Why Pick Me??

For me photography is about telling a story.

I love to capture the tiny traits and mannerisms that make a person who they are and the little moments between couples that tell the story of their love...the loving way he looks at you when no one is watching, the way you hold each other. I will capture all of the little moments and details that tell the story of you as a couple. 

​

I love quirky, alternative, untraditional weddings and I'm a complete sucker for a beach wedding!  You can often find me exploring for quirky locations for creative backdrops to use for couples portraits, whether that be pretty beach huts, fairground rides, retro shop fronts or street art. Wedding photography is all about telling a story...your story. Your wedding album shouldn’t be filled only with posed shots of just the two of you, you want real as they happened shots of everything that went down in it’s own awesome & unique way. I don’t want to hand you a polished, perfect, fake view of your day rather the raw emotion and connection and all the good times that happen on your wedding day.

The memories that I create for you will transport you back to your wedding day, the little moments you may have missed, the excitement, the nerves, the tiny details, the nervous look you shared with your dad before you walked in, the way your husband looked at you as you walked down the aisle, your first kiss, your nan's dance moves, the hugs, the laughter. I stay into the evening to make sure to catch the partying too so you don't have to worry about that not being caught on camera.

There are certain elements of the day that I do like to pose just a bit...The portraits are my favourite part of the day and like to get a bit creative with them if you’ll allow me. I love to see connection in your wedding portraits and there is some direction required to get these stunning photos of you both... but those cute, awkward moments in between are the sweet spot.  

​

For most of the day I follow you about and blend into the background shooting things as they happen. You’ll spend a fair bit of the day with me and be with me for a few portraits but I also want to take a bit of a step back and let you get on with your day. 

​

I will capture the emotion and occasion without any fakeness and promise to never ever make you do any awkward poses that you don't want to do. Most of my couples are at the very least a little nervous about being in front of the camera and I get that and I know how to make you feel at ease. I will offer just the right amount of direction to enable me to capture your wedding in a truthful, intimate, beautiful way.

I love to get to know my coupes before their wedding day ideally meeting with face to face or video call if meeting isn't possible and hopefully capturing an engagement shoot to put you at ease before the day. By getting get know you I am best able to capture your story and love to find out about you as a couple...your wildest stories...favourite bands...best adventures...how he proposed to you.

About Me

Hi, I'm Charlotte, I'm a professional wedding photographer based in Dunstable, Bedfordshire UK. I cover weddings in Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, London and surrounding areas and will happily travel further afield across the UK and Abroad. 

​

My passion for photography began at age 15, I remember my parents buying me an old Kodak film camera on our ferry ride to France, it soon became my favourite hobby and I still remember the excitement going to pick up my photographs...how times have changed!

I later studied Digital Imaging and Photography where I developed my skills in the field. 

​

When I'm not busy photographing weddings, I love spending time with my daughters,  listening to records (Kate Bush, Tom Tom Club, Roxy Music, The Smiths, William Onyeabor, Toots and The Maytals), good coffee, old houses, open fires, The Royal Tenenbaums, vintage paintings, summer, gin, day trips, flea markets, house plants, horses.
